Characteristics: The history of Joboji lacquerware is said to date from 1200 years ago when priests produced household goods at Tendai-ji temple in Joboji town. Joboji town is the biggest production center of the finest urushi lacquer in Japan, and uses its fine urushi generously to produce durable utensils for daily use.
