土楽窯　Doraku-gama kiln

解説：伊賀焼は奈良時代に始まり、茶の湯が興隆した１７世紀はじめの桃山時代には、古田織部等の指導で茶陶が焼かれました。土鍋をはじめとした、器のひとつひとつが、ろくろと職人の手による手作りです。昔ながらの田園風景が広がる伊賀の里同様、温もりのある素朴で自然な風合いを持ち、月日を重ねるごとに、それぞれに微妙に異なる表情を見せていくのが特徴です。

Characteristics: The development of Iga ware dates back to the Tenpyo period (8th century). In the late Ashikaga period (17th century) feudal lords including Enshu Kobori and Oribe Furuta favored Iga ware for their tea utensils.

Each work, including earthenware pots, is handmade on a potter’s wheel. Like the country landscape of Iga village, Iga wares feature warm, simple, natural textures expressing delicate changes in color and tone over time.
