29 Weeping mulberry by the Silk Road

The last work Miyosawa displayed at the Kokuten exhibition represents him.He usually used different utensils to dye each panel but for this screen he used one utensil to dye all three panels. Leaves grow on branches stretched from the stem colored in black and grey. He used only three colors to dye this work. Three colors are scattered in harmony and make a comfortable rhythm. The surface is covered with mica. Top and bottom are trimmed with two different colors. That highlights the mulberry and makes the screen decorative. It is properly expressed as a painting by stencil dyeing method.
